With Summer just around the corner, new life is starting to emerge once again in Ellwood City. Warmer weather, outdoor sports, picnics, and vacations are just a few things we finally get to enjoy. A new season has us pining for that fresh start and to feel revitalized. Celebrate with one of downtown Ellwood City‘s newest additions that allow you to step into Summer with confidence.

Signs by Sam had the privilege of recently completing outdoor signage for Revive, one of Ellwood City’s newest salon & day spas, located at 307 & 309 5th Street, just beside National Grind in the downtown business district.

Owner Ashley Jubach along with her business partner, Joleen Dando, have opened up a shared space for hair treatments (cut, color, and styling) and popular salon services (from lash extensions, lifts and tints (their most popular service) to facials, skincare, waxing, and makeup). Opening their doors in July 2017, they were once located at 201 5th street; however, when 2 perfectly connected spaces opened up, fate would have it so these two friends of 25 years could go into business alongside each other.

Fulfilling your dreams often means taking a few detours to find your way, and this was no exception for Ashley. Like a lot of people, working in the corporate world eventually had her craving something more. Starting with her certification in lash extensions, Ashley quickly expanded her repertoire by going for her Esthetician license in April of 2017, when she realized she wanted to carry out a career in this field. Fast forward, and now she is able to provide others a relaxing escape from everyday life to feel energized and revived (how the business got its name).

When asked about what she has loved so far about starting her own business, she tells us,

I’m able to let the creative juices flow as much as I want! In prior jobs, I felt like I was always trying to take it up a notch or switch things up so that I could add a little more of “me” to the position, but that typically doesn’t pan out in a corporate type setting since there is a structure and guidelines that must be stuck to. So, being my own boss has allowed me to market myself and project myself in the way I’ve always wanted to. If I want to offer my clients a free perk with every service, I can do that. If I want to take clients as early as 6 a.m. to accommodate their schedule, I don’t have to clear it with anyone first. I love the combination of flexibility, creativity, and overall freedom I have to do what I think is best for my clients.

Not only is it Revive’s goal to provide a wide array of amazing services to enjoy, but also to go above and beyond for their clients. Brides, for example, are encouraged to take advantage of their on-location styling services to ease pressure off the big day! Even if you are staying local, it is their goal to create a safe space to feel your best, “enhance your natural beauty, and boost your confidence,” as Jubach tells us.

When Ashley is not helping a client unwind and refresh, she enjoys spending her time doing other creative activities, such as cooking and baking. Other hobbies include watching movies, reading, and spending time with her husband and two puppies.

The people of Ellwood City give a lot to this community, pouring their hearts into helping the town prosper. This is one of the countless businesses that want to give back and show how much they appreciate this town and see Ellwood City ‘revived.’
